What We Believe

The following are the core beliefs of Rock Branch Independent Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

When God created man, He formed Adam out of the dust of the earth, and Eve from Adam's rib. Everything was perfect! They were allowed to eat the fruit of every tree there was, except for the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The Devil, in the form of a snake, caused her to doubt God's word, and convinced her to eat from that tree. Once she ate, she took the fruit to Adam, and he ate of it as well. Because of their sin they were removed from the garden, and all mankind from then on was separated from God. Their disobedience caused the entire human race to fall from grace. 

Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by His grace, offers eternal life to "whosoever believeth in Him."
 In John 14:6 Jesus said He is THE way, THE truth, and THE life. and no man cometh unto the Father but by me. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. No matter what you have done, or how far you've gone, Jesu loves you and wants to save you!

God established the local church to be a hospital of hope for the lost and hurting, and a family of like-minded believers to encourage, support, and to keep each member accountable in their personal walk with Christ. He sets a Pastor to be their shepherd, preach the Word, and to lead them by example.  Assembling together each week with the church plays a vital role in a healthy Christian life. the truth is you can't love God without loving His church.
